Emma Watson- Fair Trade

There are many reasons why one would want to love Emma Watson; she's beautiful and smart, she plays our beloved Hermione and if magazines are anything to go by she is a down-to-earth and generally nice person. But what is striking about her is that she knows that she has a great influence as a celebrity, as the face of iconic English label Burberry, and of course as the girl who plays Hermione and she uses this "for the better good" of the world. She worked as creative adviser for People Tree for some time,"Fashion is a great way to empower people and give them skills; rather than give cash to charity you can help people by buying the clothes they make and supporting things they take pride in."

Emma Watson Graces Cover of Vogue US

The little girl with the bushy mane of hair and large front teeth that captured the hearts of millions through her portrayal of the smart and bossy Hermione has grown up. Sporting her chic pixie cut, and bold berry lips she looked beautiful and mature beyond her age posing for the vogue shoot with easy grace and confidence.

Vogue noticed her talent and beauty early on, as this is her second time on the highly reputable fashion magazine's glossy cover. Her first time was on Vogue UK(right):
She also appeared on the cover of Teen Vogue a while ago and when asked about her style she replied: "I'm young, so I'm still experimenting. But I think [my style] is quite British and very much about individuality."

Fashion With A Conscience How You Can Help

We as consumers have a responsibility to know how the products we buy are made, manufactured and distributed, and they as the producers have the responsibility to tell us. However, I know for the average person out there, having all the information does not really seem to help- with the green labelled clothing and products in general costing more due to its ethical ways it would not fit under most of our budgets. But who says buying from "green" designers is the only way to ensure you are doing your part for the world? There is so much you can do as an individual, believe in the power of one for startersand be prepared to give up some of your time and perhaps luxury. No one ever said doing the right thing would be easy. However here are a few ideas that I think might help make it easier :) :

DIY
Do it Yourself! Make some of your own clothing, obviously making a gathered, asymmetrical gown would be asking for too much for starters but try with little things like scarves, scrunchies, little skirts etc.
Reuse and Recycle
Trends come and go, and for people who who watch trends closely over a few decades you can see that is goes around in a cycle. So instead of buying things that are in trend today and will go out of trend tomorrow, opt for basic items that you can modify to fit trends for example, tops with simple sleeves that you can cut/ shape to give the desired effects. Not just reusing, but recycling is a good way to feel good without spending a cent. Garments that are shoved to the back of your closet because its "soo last year" are a good place to start, like bootleg jeans that you shudder to look at can be transformed by taking in the seam a little and creating a pair of chic skinny or straight leg jeans. Or maybe you have some old jeans that are really plain, dye it or use a scrubber on it to get that deliberate worn out, scruffy look that will give you that ragged appearence that always seems to be in trend in one way or another
Go Vintage
Instead of heading to the mass department stores for you next prom or graduation ball, try a vintage boutique and if your low on the pocket money op shops and second hand clothing shops are great places too if you want a unique outfit that you don't have to worry about other people wearing. Just make sure you wash/dry clean the garments before you wear them!

Rachel Bilson- Style Inspiration

Rachel Bilson is my number 1celebrity style inspiration, which is a bit ironic because I do not really know much about her except that she has exceptional style( and used to be in some teen drama series)- individualistic and chic she seems to keep up with every major trend there is while managing not to look like a fashion victim. Here are her rocking some distinctive yet varied trends/looks:
